Dr. Bonitatibus is board-certified in allergy and immunology and a member of the American Academy of Allergy & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.
She attended Evans High School in Evans, GA. She graduated from Georgia Tech, where she was a Presidential Scholar with a degree in chemical engineering.
She attended medical school at UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham). Dr. Bonitatibus returned to the Augusta area to complete her pediatric training and her fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. She is certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology. She won the Clemons Von Pirquet award from the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology for research on cross-reactivity between grass pollen and peanut. She also published work related to Chronic Granulomatous Disease in Immunology.
She was briefly on the faculty at the Medical College of Georgia, Department of Pediatrics and worked as a Pediatric Hospitalist in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pulmonology.
Her special interests include allergies, sinus problems, asthma, pediatric asthma, Alpha-Gal Syndrome, food allergies and atopic dermatitis. Her hobbies include enjoying sunsets at the lake, fishing, hiking, traveling to the mountains and the beach and spending time with family.
